Northern Lights Music Festival - 2008 Concerto Competition


	This year's festival includes a concerto competition for participants, and a collaborative competition with the Piano Camp at the University of Minnesota at Duluth, culminating in a performance of the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. Concerto Opportunities A public concerto competition for Northern Lights participants of all levels. Choose one or more movements of one of the following concerti: Mozart Piano Concerto in Bb, K. 238 Mozart Piano Concerto in A Major, K. 414 Mozart Piano Concerto in A Major, K 488 Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in G minor Mendelssohn Violin Concerto Mozart Violin Concerti, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Several winners will be chosen to perform with the Northern Lights Chamber Orchestra. A collaborative competition with the Piano Camp at UMD requires the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 2. Prepare either the 1st, or the 2nd and 3rd movements. The winner performs with the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra.
