As a participant in the Northern
Lights Music Festival, you will perform before large
and enthusiastic audiences in a beautiful, historic theatre in a friendly,
small-town atmosphere. More than 12 concerts are scheduled in the Northern
Lights season, providing each participant with multiple performance opportunities.
Exceptional music students of any age will have the opportunity to develop as
solo performers and as chamber music players. A maximum of 50 participants are
selected to attend the Festival.
Internationally renowned faculty members will teach and coach during the
festival. Participants will be placed with those of similar age and ability to
form piano trios, quartets and quintets. Repertoire assignments will be made in
advance to enable the ensembles to make best use of their rehearsal time.
Students will receive two private lessons a week, and multiple chamber music
coachings in addition to daily theory and sightsinging classes.
