Opera Apprentice Program
The Northern Lights Music Festival Opera Apprentice Program provides young, gifted singers an opportunity to participate in the NLMF mainstage opera–Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin– as singers in comprimario roles, as covers, and in the chorus; as well as simultaneously preparing opera scenes, receiving private lessons and coachings in stagecraft and diction.
In addition, three performances of selected Opera Scenes will tour to three different northern Minnesota cities.
The intensive four-week course will provide participants daily with performance seminars, master classes, individual coachings, stage craft, movement, and diction classes, with an emphasis on Russian this season.
NLMF instrumentalists and conductors collaborate with singers in chamber music performances throughout the festival season. Singers are invited to perform on frequent chamber music recitals.
Collegiate students and young professionals are welcome to apply.
Members of the Opera Apprentice program appear in both the chorus and in comprimario roles of our opera.
