Opera Apprentice Program

Headed by co-directors Barbara Dever and Carlos César Rodríguez. This program is designed for gifted college age and emerging artist level singers.

NLMF Opera Apprentice Program will include:

  • Cast Assignments in Opera Apprentice Family show of The Magic Flute.
  • Chorus Scholarship opportunities / possible comprimario roles in Mainstage Die Zauberflöte.
  • Role Preparation.
  • Audition Package Coaching.
  • Weekly Vocal Lessons and Coaching sessions.
  • Opera Arias and Scenes concert.
  • Master Classes with Barbara Dever, Carlos César Rodríguez, as well as Northern Lights Music Festival Conductor Gavriel Heine, and mainstage director as well as other festival faculty.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with other festival chamber musicians throughout the festival season.

Program dates: June 25 – July 18 2022
Arrival: June 25th
Performance dates: The Magic Flute Family Show July 14 and 16, 2022
Mainstage: July 15 and 17, 2022

Tuition: $2000.00 (Includes Housing and program costs)

*Apprentice Artists are responsible for their own transportation to and from the festival.
