Levi Capesius
Don Curzio
Having already performed on the stages of The Des Moines Civic Center, Minneapolis Orchestra Hall, and Carnegie Hall during his pre-professional career, Levi Capesius is a young singing artist who combines his passion of performing classical and operatic repertoire with his passion for education and outreach to inspire audiences of all ages.
Considering himself a lifelong learner, Mr. Capesius has studied with Dr. Brian Pfaltzgraff and Dr. Cory Renbarger. Currently, Mr. Capesius studies with Dr. Gwendolyn Coleman and Prof. Daniel Weeks at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).
Already having been a concert soloist with ensembles such as the Wartburg Community Symphony and the Rochester Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Capesius has performed solos from Schubert’s Magnificat, Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb.
As an exploratory operatic and classical music performer, Mr. Capesius has held roles in multiple productions. Capesius is currently studying to perform the role of Tom Snout (Wall) in Benjamin Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, the mainstage opera of the CCM 2024-25 season. Also at CCM, Capesius is studying opera scenes from Le Nozze di Figaro performing the role of Don Basilio.
A musical education advocate, Capesius enjoys giving back to people and communities through one of his musical passions – introducing classical music and operatic repertoire to the next generation of young musicians, performers, and music enthusiasts to ensure a strong musical foundation for the future.
